MEGA has an exclusive on Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s fiery red Francis Libiran gown at the Miss Universe 2021 Preliminaries.

Beatrice Luigi Gomez, 26 years old, Philippines! Last night we heard all of the queens introduce themselves in the Preliminaries of the 70th Miss Universe pageant. On December 10, 2021, thepageant organizers of the esteemed competition held two events in a night. The girls had to make an introduction, perform a delightful dance number, and strut the runway in the Preliminary competition. Right after, the queens would have to join the National Costume show, where they showcase beautiful designs inspired by their home country.
During the entire event, we couldn’t help but admire the beautifully crafted gown worn by Beatrice Luigi Gomez. The red gown that is daring, exciting, and incredibly stunning on our Miss Universe bet. Some may compare it to Catriona Grey’s Lava gown, but if you look closer you can see how different they are.
First off, the cut is asymmetrical, yet balanced in placement. You have the one shoulder neckline, a side cutout, and a high rise slit. The cuts in the gown are pro thoughtfully placed that it molds to Beatrice’s body completely.
Aside from this, Libiran used different techniques and fabrics to create the gown. The jewel encrusted gown has been beaded all throughout the body of the dress. You can see the beads are not just placed on it, but they’re also following a form shaping path.
Taking a look back at the asymmetrical neckline, Libiran chose to add movement to the gown by adding in a cascade of beads that’s moves to the beat of Beatrice’s strut.
All in all, we think it’s a beautiful gown that was made skillfully with a creative take on pageant gowns in mind. We were incredibly happy seeing Miss Universe Philippines, Beatrice Luigi Gomez, walk confidently during the Preliminaries. And, we can’t wait to see what else she’ll be wearing during the competition.
