From Obet Santana in Senior High to Moises Malonzo in Pamilya Sagrado, Kyle Echarri is Philippine entertainment’s next man of the moment

No one can say that Kyle Echarri has not been putting in the work. From his first appearance on screen in The Voice Kids in 2015, Kyle has evolved from affable teen charm, to promising Philippine star, to the multi-hyphenate artist he is now: a nimble and engaged actor with fine taste and big dreams. In the new action drama that exists around political and family intrigue, Pamilya Sagrado, Kyle is tasked with a character unfamiliar and challenging, his “biggest role yet.” Unsurprisingly, Kyle delivers, creating a character who is enchanting and complex at once.

From Kadenang Ginto, Beach Bros, The Iron Heart, and Senior High, and now shifting to Pamilya Sagrado, Kyle’s career trajectory is a testament to his ever-evolving talent. The young phenom has turned fiction into familiar waters, building a momentum of fresh stories with his portrayals. In the first few episodes alone, Kyle does fantastic work showing his character’s inner machinations. Fittingly, Kyle reveals to MEGA Entertainment, “I knew about this character before we started taping for Senior High, so it was something I really prepared for. I asked for a role I can be proud of, and when this was pitched to me by Sir Deo [Endrinal], he promised Moises as my biggest role yet. I didn’t realize how big of a project it was until I started it—now it’s my biggest and proudest project to date.”

Kyle’s favorite part about playing Moises: “finding, studying, and understanding the reasons why Moises is the way he is.”

Next in Line for ‘Leading Man’

With his inventive and bold performances, Kyle has cemented himself as next in line for this generation’s ‘Leading Man’ status. He electrifies every frame while going toe-to-toe with heavyweights Piolo Pascual and Tirso Cruz III. Kyle touches on how working with seasoned actors changed his approach to acting—or his perspective of it. “It’s been a blessing to learn from them both in terms of our craft and how they present themselves off-screen,” Kyle shares with MEGA Entertainment. “In this moment of my career—where I’m stepping into a bigger position, the opportunity to work with them is not something every other young actor gets; I know how blessed I am to be in this project—to learn and to grow with my art alongside veteran actors.”

This anecdote summarizes his working relationship with Piolo, Tirso, and fellow Gen Z star Grae Fernandez. Throughout the shoot, it becomes evident that even though they have different levels of professional experience, they have built excellent off-screen friendship and rapport. With Kyle’s palpable charm and Piolo, Tirso, and Grae’s acting chops, we have a series worth watching.

The four actors’ commitment to their roles supplements their magnetic character personalities. With both experience and novelty in the series, Kyle and his co-stars are delivering one of Dreamscape Entertainment’s best series yet.

Stepping into the Shoes of Moises Malonzo

Fresh from his success in Senior High, Kyle delivers another excellent performance in Pamilya Sagrado

Kyle presents a masterful and commanding portrayal of Moises in Pamilya Sagrado. But stepping into the character’s shoes was not a cakewalk: “I found it challenging how pure and good Moises Malonzo is,” Kyle says. “As humans, it’s in our nature to react negatively towards something negative, but Moises isn’t like that. In a world where everything is against him, he still finds a way to exhibit and show his good heart. I want to react in a certain way, but Moises doesn’t allow me to—this was the hardest thing for me to justify about his character, but it’s been fun.”

Confidence in the Spotlight

Kyle is as flexible off-screen, comfortable and chic in the outfits during the shoot. It’s unsurprising, as he has served up some fashion-forward looks since catapulting to fame, sporting trends such as bold prints on prints, fishnets, cropped tops, and fur coats in true Brad Pitt style.

Much like his film projects, Kyle’s style has evolved over the years

Not one to stick to a traditional shirt and pants, Kyle is now known as an established fashion risk-taker. As only a man of twenty-one, Kyle weighs in about his self-assurance and confidence in this industry.

“I always do my thing. If you know who you are, what people will say won’t matter. So when it comes to fashion, or in any creative outlet that I do to express myself—as long as it makes me happy, do’n ako.”

Now one of most anticipated Gen Z stars, Kyle Echarri is basking in the release of Pamilya Sagrado, the project that he asked for and dreamt of having. Coming into stardom as a child, Kyle has stepped into the spotlight beautifully—and now he is witnessing the results of his ambition and hard work. “Almost all of my dreams as a kid have been surpassed,” Kyle declares. “Those [my dreams] got me to where I am today. But growing into the industry, I’ve learned not to look too far ahead in the future. As much as it’s good to have a goal, the best thing for me is to stay where I am, to be present, and let everything soak in—so that when the future comes, and newer dreams and bigger things come, I’ll be prepared and waiting.”

So after Kyle Echarri’s stellar run? We don’t know yet, but the world is keeping an eye open, too.
