On her first Paris Couture Week, Kylie Verzosa writes her love affair with fashion by being her own stylist and glam team
Everyone dreams of attending fashion week: wearing extravagant clothes and dazzling jewelry, rubbing elbows with fashion’s elite, indulging in exquisite cuisine, witnessing the unveilings of new collections, and being part of the collective imagination shaping the industry’s future. Kylie Verzosa can spill the sequins on that because she’s lived it. Living for the full experience of it all, she’s her own stylist, makeup artist, and head-turner self at Paris Couture Week.

Haute Surprise
Attending her first Paris Couture Week was a surprise for the shapewear entrepreneur. Fresh from her glamorous stint at the Cannes Film Festival, the invitations from various fashion houses started pouring in. “Brands started inviting me to shows, and we just took them. It was amazing! I love Paris and the city’s energy. Fashion Week has always been on my bucket list!” she shared, her excitement palpable.
Her jam-packed schedule was filled with some of the most coveted shows, like a high-fashion editorial shoot lineup. “Vogue World was my absolute favorite show at the Plaza Vendôme,” she gushed. “It was incredible to see all the designers, athletes, performers, and celebrities come together to celebrate decades of French fashion and the upcoming Olympics.”
“Standouts for me included Sabrina Carpenter in Jacquemus, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu in YSL, Bad Bunny, FKA Twigs in JPG, and the horses of Hermes with Kendall and Gigi,” Verzosa recounted. She singled out the Tony Ward show and Messika as highlights as if stepping inside a jewelry box where glamour was in overload. She added, “I was invited by Louis Vuitton to try on some of their handmade pieces. They were absolutely beautiful!”
Designer Dialogues
Other than attending prestigious shows, Verzosa relished the chance to engage with renowned designers, enriching her experience with firsthand insights and inspirations. “I had fittings and met Tony Ward, who dressed me for Cannes the first time. I fell in love with his pieces,” she revealed. “We fitted a few looks, but he asked me what I was most comfortable in, and we chose the perfect look for the show.”
Meeting Alexandre Vauthier was another memorable experience. “I had the pleasure of meeting Alexandre Vauthier at the FRWD dinner. He was so humble and dressed me up for the event, opting for their classic suit look,” she shared.
“I also attended an event for Valérie Messika, I wore her pieces and worked with them in Cannes. Meeting Anna Dello Russo at Vogue World was amazing too. It was inspiring to meet so many talented people and designers in fashion. Most importantly, I made sure to have fun with it all.”
Couture Confidence
Verzosa shook up Paris Couture Week by playing double duty as her own stylist and makeup guru, proving she’s not just a trend follower but a trendsetter. “I didn’t bring a team with me to Paris, so I did my own styling and makeup. It was a test for me, but traveling around Europe and working with new people made me realize that I already knew what I wanted and had the look in mind,” she explained.
She continued, “I put all the outfits together myself. With makeup, I know my face well enough and what I’m comfortable with. Even at Cannes, I started doing my own makeup for events. I realized I could handle things on my own and just started trusting myself and my style. I opted for looks that felt authentically me—comfortable and authentically classy.”
Kylie in Paris
Without the usual entourage, Verzosa’s Parisian expedition became a solo act, where every show and soirée was a chance to shine on her own terms. “Traveling without a large team had its cons, but mostly pros because I got to focus on enjoying the experience,” she said.
“Paris was chaotic and fun! While I loved the shows, I enjoyed the dinners and parties even more because that’s where I really got to meet people and designers. It was such a fun and memorable experience, one I would definitely do again!”
Fashion Week was a flurry of incredible shows, unforgettable encounters, and a personal triumph of styling and glam. She exhibited that all you need is a bit of confidence, a keen eye for style, and the audacity to trust yourself. Paris Couture Week, consider yourself conquered. She did it all on her own, and Kylie Verzosa wouldn’t change a thing.
