Among the many Chers of the Opulence Ball was Maris Racal in her silver siren fantasy
In a room full of glitter and sparkles and with a theme of The Velvet Underground, actress Maris Racal was dripping in silver as the 70s icon Cher at Mond Gutierrez’s Opulence Ball. “Not just any Cher,” her stylist Adrianne Concepcion clarified. “It’s the showgirl-disco-diva-stage costume Cher.”

An Homage to Cher
Adrianne Concepcion shared that the inspiration behind this look was Cher’s dress in her Atlanta City concert in 1979. The singer then wore several versions of this dress in her other concerts. “It was back and forth with Maris and I, but ultimately Maris wants to channel her inner Cher for the occasion,” Concepcion explained. And that she did at the Opulence Ball.
“It’s not every day that one gets to walk around in over-the-top glamour, so we went with one of her most iconic looks,” the stylist mused. “Besides, Cher is the queen of disco. It was an homage.”
A Memorable And Cheeky Maris Racal
There were many Chers in the event that night, and each version in the Opulence Ball was different, all offering a varied glimpse of the icon. For Maris, she opted for a bodysuit that was covered in silver fringe made by Kampampangan designer Russel May Cordero, channeling a silver siren that waded between the sparkling lights.
Among the several outfits Cher has worn, this was the look for the actress as it’s “memorable, iconic, and cheeky. We just made some tweaks to it to flatter Maris’ petite frame,” Concepcion explained.
MEGA asked Concepcion if there were any behind the scenes moments that she would like to share in the making of this look. To this, the stylist answered, “Every moment with Maris is memorable because she really gets into character. Her energy is infectious and it’s always a joy dressing her up. She always delivers.”
