ASICS has been announced as the official outfitter for our Philippine delegates headed to the Tokyo Olympics.
In partnership with the Philippine Olympic Committee, ASICS will be providing footwear and apparel for all our Filipino athletes, as they try to take home the country’s first Olympic gold medal.
“ASICS Philippines is excited and honored to partner with the Philippine Olympic Committee as the footwear and apparel partner and are in a unique position as the official outfitter and footwear for the Philippine Delegation for the Tokyo Olympics,” they share in a press release.
As announced by Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, president of the Philippine Olympic Committee, ASICS Philippines are set to provide full attires—including tracksuits, shirts, training and competition wear, baggage, and other accessories to all Filipino delegates.
Having sponsored Filipino athletes in the last SEA Games—where the Philippines won as overall champions—Tolentino believes that this partnership is a testament of luck. “May kasamang suwerte ang Asics,” Tolentino shares. “Maybe, again, and’yan pa ‘yung bwanas ng partnership ng ASICS at POC.”
The Philippine delegation will be donning the brand for the duration of the Tokyo Olympics, from July 23 to August 8. Nineteen Filipino athletes are set to fly to Tokyo to try and win the first Olympic gold medal for the Philippines.
