Here are the five Filipino designers who had their creations worn by the Miss Universe candidates

A queen was newly reigned today and we can’t help but recall the events that led up to this moment. From intense training, endless travels, to working closely with their designers, these queens and their determination are nothing short of inspiring.

And though we already have a new queen, we can’t help but notice a detail that may have reigned during the duration of Miss Universe. Exquisite designs were worn by the candidates and some of their looks were made by none other than Filipino designers. So this time around, we are honoring the five designers with their creations.

Rian Fernandez

Three designs were made by Filipino designer, Rian Fernandez. In the preliminary round, newly crowned Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel was dressed in a halter top gown painted this year’s color of the year, Viva Magenta. Meanwhile, her winning look featured studded embellishments and a plunging neckline.

As for his third design, there was a mix of feminine and masculine codes worn by Miss Cambodia. A tailored suit is finished on the upper bodice while a purple and blue embroidered pattern goes down from the neckline down to the skirt.

Patrick Isorena

Another look of R’Bonney Gabriel was made by Patrick Isorena. Inspired by the historical moon landing in 1696, the Filipino designer included the moon, stars, and a galactic ensemble for her National Costume.

Leo Almodal

For Miss Spain, her silver and royal blue regal gown was designed by Leo Almodal. Her off-shoulder dress was embellished with rhinestones and gems that cascaded elegantly down to the hem.

Ehrran Montoya

A gorgeous rose bloomed during the National Costume segment as Miss Spain wore the creation of Ehrran Montoya. Her vibrant red gown was draped elegantly on the front while a train was finished at the back.

Furne One

The figure-hugging silhouette on Miss Bahrain was designed by Dubai-based designer, Furne One. Dainty linked chains covered her arms and headpiece all the way down to the hem while her bodice was beautifully decorated with embellishments.
