For the start of 2018, renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran continues to cements his mark in the international scene. This week, the designer flew to China to present his latest collection called ‘Somerset’ at Harbin Fashion Week 2017. “More than 80 designers from all over the world will converge in the city of Harbin, which is famous for its Ice festival.” writes Libiran in an Instagram post.
The 40-piece collection, which was previously presented at MEGA Fashion Week, reveals a different side of Francis Libiran and his creations. Known for creating red carpet gowns, blacks and white, and precision cutouts, the visionary surprised us with a palette of pastel hues and bright jewel tones. If you’ve fallen in love with his ball-worthy designs, you’ll most likely want to wear its ready-to-wear versions (think wrap tops and billowing skirts in rich fabrics), and feel extra glamorous on a regular day. However, for his final look, Libiran didn’t fail to show one of his classic creations: a blue ball gown that boasts shimmering beadwork and precise cutouts.
