This week, ABS-CBN and GMA have officially made a mark in history with the premiere of Unbreak My Heart. With this show prompting the new wave of collaboration between the powerhouses in Kamuning and Mother Ignacia, it is no surprise that Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia is in the roster, topbilling alongside Joshua Garcia, Richard Yap, and Jodi Sta. Maria.

With Unbreak My Heart streaming in 27 territories, it only feels right that Gabbi is cementing her local and international presence with this project. In an exclusive interview with MEGA Entertainment, Gabbi revealed how Unbreak My Heart has made her into a better actress. “Ang saya kasi I’m not in my comfort zone,” she began, explaining that ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape is in charge of the production. “When you’re not comfortable, that’s the chance where you get to grow, kaya ang saya.”
Expounding on her working relationship with the two Kapamilya stars, the actress also acknowledged the generosity of Joshua and Jodi in this project. “It’s always nice to work with co-actors, especially from Joshua and Jodi who are really giving when it comes to show business, to their craft. I’m lucky to work with them.”
Solid foundation
Gabbi Garcia also opened up in her interview with Boy Abunda that with Jodi’s big heart, it was only right to return the favor. Unbreak My Heart’s Alexandra shared that even before their scenes, she already started building a relationship with Jodi, who plays Rose in the series.
“I did relationship work with her unconsciously. Yung ‘di halata masyado. I made sure that I would talk to her, I would get to know her, I would make an effort to actually make a conversation with her,” Gabbi explained.
Equally sharing the value of building rapport with coworkers, Jodi also went beyond their characters and connected with the younger actress. In their trip to Europe, the two went on a three-hour street food tour.
As their relationship continues to unfold on and off cam, we can’t wait to see more of Gabbi and Jodi’s relationship and story in Unbreak My Heart.
