This May, Heaven breathes life to one of the most popular characters on Wattpad today in the newest story-to-series adaptation
Among the pool of this generation’s actresses, Heaven Peralejo is one of the few who knows how to use her irresistible allure effectively in different roles. This time, she adds a little quirkiness with that trait with her upcoming role in the series The Rain in España.
Fresh from her Best Actress-nominated portrayal of Me-Ann in the MMFF film Nanahimik ang Gabi alongside actor Ian Veneracion, she is coming back on screen as Luna Valeria in the newest show adaptation from a Wattpad book.
Coming-of-age character
In a clip from her vlog, Heaven revealed that she actually auditioned for the role. “I’m super thankful na nakuha ko si Luna Valeria kasi malapit siya sa puso ko. ‘Yung characters niya and ‘yung characters ni Heaven, at some point, nagme-meet,” she mentioned in an interview.
Luna, Heaven’s character, is the female protagonist of the University Series’ first installment written by author 4reuminct or Gwy Saludes. While the actress revealed that some details from the show will be different from the book, the essence of Luna’s strength as a woman, as well as the camaraderie of the characters are still present.
In the trailer, Heaven already displayed her character’s quirkiness with her pickup lines, unfiltered reactions, and natural charm as a regular architecture student who starts having feelings for Kalix Martinez, played by Marco Gallo. Together with Luna’s clique, they will traverse through adulthood and maturity with curiosity and sense of adventure. The sneak peek also features a time jump based on the book’s prologue, wherein Luna, now an architect, will cross paths again with her ex-boyfriend.
Certified daring lover
Just recently, journalist Karen Davila guested the actress on her vlog for a house tour and a one-on-one interview. In the video, Heaven shared her love for working out, keeping her space minimalist, and managing her finances.
Besides expounding on her journey as an actress, she also opened up to Karen about her love for her mother. “Lahat po ng decision[s] ko in life, factor siya. Kahit may times na minsan nagkakalayo kami because of my bad decisions, nandiyan pa rin siya para i-accept ako.”
Heaven also revealed in the vlog that she kept her Pinoy Big Brother audition a secret to her mother. After PBB, she was also able to provide for her family through the acting opportunities she’s had over the years. Besides her showbiz career, Heaven invested on her education and in business, as well by finishing her college degree and starting her restaurant, The Food Market Manila.
