Here Are 5 Designer Collections For Fall/Winter 2021 Season That Stood Out

By

While many luxury storied brands showcased their newest collections, there were five designer collections that definitely caught our attention.

Another unconventional fashion week has wrapped up. Meaning, another season without seeing any celebrities, fashion influencers, and editors flying in and out of fashion capitals to sit front row of the most prestigious shows. A year after the entire world has been put on lockdown, we’re still here in the comforts of our own homes looking at countless new designer collections released on our screens.

However, while we’ve already acclimatized ourselves with watching digital fashion shows for three seasons now, what remains the same as before are the ingenious, gorgeous creations several designers present. And with so many collections we’ve seen and made our jaws dropped, we can’t neglect the fact that there were five shows that undoubtedly beguiled us.

Loewe

The Loewe Fall/Winter 2021 women’s runway collection was a full-frontal, visually saturated statement in shape and color, pumped up to the max. Breaking with the house’s formula, creative director Jonathan Anderson escaped the boundaries to define new ones. An exploded palette of bright, acrylic hues was juxtaposed in graphic compositions then mapped onto abstract silhouettes that swing around the body, draped all over it, and sprouted out of it. The sheer joy of fashion-making was harnessed to convey an idea of dressing up as an audacious act, marking a point of departure towards new grounds.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo leaped forward to shape a new now. Inspired by the limitless conceptual freedom of science fiction and the house’s heritage of technical innovation, creative director Paul Andrew projected into the future to craft an alternative vision for the present. Fueled by optimism and hope, this was a bright and youthful collection that disrupted and upgraded 21st-century tropes of uniform—business, military, evening, sporting—discarding all that is old-fashioned.

TOD’S

Creative director Walter Chiapponi continued to offer other points of view on Tod’s vocabulary. Exploring manual skills and craftsmanship in an endless quest for enhancement and working on a repertoire of classic garments, he created new objects, in which archetypes blend. This season, the world of sportswear met the voluptuous femininity of couture, without sacrificing function and utility. The result was iconic garments with new volumes and unexpected details for all functions and occasions. It was a journey within shades of elegance that redefines the idea of Italian good taste, with a new edge.

Longchamp

The Longchamp Fall/Winter 2021 fashion show presented by creative director Sophie Delafontaine drew inspiration from the iconic Longchamp racehorse logo and the work of the French interior designer Pierre Paulin, whose vision revolutionized Parisian apartments in the second half of the 20th century. Pierre Paulin was a key influence on the collection’s silhouettes, with Sophie Delafontaine citing his innovative approach to line, function, color, and material as chiming with the creative spirit of Longchamp. Thus, many of the looks had a sensual, enveloping quality evocative of the curves of a Paulin sofa, while quilting and layering were prominent themes.

Hogan

Genderless, relaxed, and modern. While Hogan is not a brand known by many, but what truly separated them from the others is their consciousness on environmental issues that push them to make sensible use of available resources by reducing waste whilst bringing to life unique, valuable, and durable objects. So, the first chapter of Hogan-3R showcased few essential but extremely versatile pieces that harmoniously blend with the rhythm and the skyline of global smart cities. The new Hogan-3R collection was made with love towards the Earth and the people who inhabit it and recycled materials engineered to create a product whose quality and value are higher than the original. It served as a pathway that chooses quality, functionality, and aesthetics, preferring heritage over trend and that guarantees longevity to the product.
