In the fluctuating Filipino weather, journey into understanding your skin better and addressing its needs this holiday season with Cetaphil’s new cleaners
As the holiday season approaches and the weather changes in the Philippines, many Filipinos find themselves grappling with the state of their skin. Sensitive skin types, in particular, are susceptible to fluctuating temperatures in December and with the cold weather even reaching the months of January and February. Together with MEGA Magazine, Cetaphil Philippines recently hosted a captivating intimate gathering at Gallery by Chele, exploring the intriguing decoding concept behind their new cleansers, designed to cater to your skin’s specific needs during this festive time.

Hosted by model and lifestyle content creator Kelly Misa, “The Perfect Canvas” event spotlighted guests such as Patricia Prieto, Chelsea Robato, Siobhan Moylan, and Dr. Geraldine Zamora in crisp white or blue linen attire with silver accessories, letting beautifully bare skin take center stage.
Opening the event, Cetaphil Philippines’ brand manager Abe Mationg, welcomed the attendees and introduced the brand’s newest products: the Soothing Foam Wash and Hydrating Foam Cream Cleanser. It also set the tone of the event by segueing into the thought-provoking panel discussion involving Dr. Gaile Vitas-Robredo, MEGA Magazine beauty editor Agoo Bengzon, actress Jasmine Curtis, and Cetaphil brand ambassador Bianca Gonzalez-Intal.
The 20-minute discourse revolved around crucial topics, such as selecting the appropriate cleanser for your skin type, the importance of skin hydration, maintaining a proper skincare routine amidst the holiday bustle, and the significance of maintaining healthy skin even during a hectic schedule.
Dr. Gaile Vitas-Robredo shed light on the science behind skincare and how cleansers are a good start for a daily routine. With several products on the market now and hearing from people about a variety of products that work for them, the board-certified dermatologist advises that “Ultimately, it boils down to how the product works for you—your skin type, and your skin concerns.”
She cautions that you should get your products from reputable brands to not compromise your skin’s health. To figure out your skin type, Dr. Vitas-Robredo reminds everyone that your skin type is not fixed. “I used to believe you are born with a certain skin type. But sometimes kasi, our exposures and the products we use can alter our skin type.”
Bianca, for her part, enthusiastically admits to leaving home without an ounce of makeup, especially when she figured out a skin care regimen for herself. She also imparts the wisdom of what she has learned being a model from her teen years to now that she’s a 40-year-old woman. “Embracing bare skin is more than just the physical. It’s also how you feel inside, how happy you are, and how you’re taking care of yourself.”
For Agoo, echoing what her other panelists have said about allotting time for skincare, one constant product in her beauty arsenal is sunscreen. She adds, “It’s the sun that ages you. Always wear your SPF.”
On top of what fellow panelists have said about the power of cleansing and hydrating, actress Jasmine Curtis shares that healthy habits also contribute to healthy skin. She encouraged guests to rest up, catch up on sleep, hydrate with water, and not forget to smile.
Guests savored a brunch session served with delicacies like Meringue Del Sal, Salmon Pintxos, and Scallops tart accompanied by exquisite drinks. Further enhancing the feel-good atmosphere, guests showcased their bare skin at the Bare Cam, radiating the confidence Cetaphil aims to inspire in every individual.
As a lasting note, guests were encouraged to gift their loved ones the newest cleansers on the block during the upcoming 12.12 sale and throughout Cetaphil’s 12 Days of Healthy Skin campaign, culminating on December 14th. Truly, a gift of healthy skin is the season’s best offering. After all, what says holiday spirit better than empowering personal wellbeing and championing self-confidence?
