It’s the grandest night in fashion, and it’s all thanks to the Philippines’ biggest fashion magazine’s 30th year in the industry. As we step into the MEGAverse, witness the rise of a brighter and bolder fashion future.

In the face of fiery change and the birth of a new era, our favorite queens will still reign supreme. Here’s how Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, Megan Young, Kylie Verzosa, Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Rabiya Mateo, Maureen Wroblewitz, Maxine Medina, Katarina Rodrigo, Gwendolyn Fournoil, and Hannah Arnold reimagined the 70’s “Glam Rock” theme in MEGA Ball’s grand comeback.

PIA WURTZBACH

One of the night’s most awaited personalities, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach brought the glamour on the red carpet with an Anthony Ramirez creation. Taking out the beads and pieces from the designer’s old gowns, the soon-to-be-bride says that it was empowering to wear a dress that’s both sustainable and chic.

CATRIONA GRAY

In a repurposed denim trench by Dia Ali, Catriona Gray is all about creating something new and beautiful, even if it’s out of her usual personal style. According to the crowned Miss Universe 2018, what’s great about events such as the MEGA Ball is that it poses an opportunity to step out of one’s comfort zone and have a little bit of fun.

MEGAN YOUNG

Megan Young is wearing a custom hot pink puff sleeves top and skirt set by Chynna Mamawal for this year’s MEGA Ball. It’s classic and romantic with an under current of sexy, which mirrors the Miss World 2013’s personal style.

Sustainability is introduced into the look through the refurbished shoes by MX Studio. It’s an existing pair of shoes which were covered in the same fabric of the dress and will complete the over-all look of Young.

KYLIE VERZOSA

In a black sultry cut-out dress by Andrea Tetangco, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, who also planned her red carpet look herself, brought out the modern, sexy and edgy as she hosted tonight’s MEGA Ball.

SHAMCEY SUPSUP-LEE

The National Director for Miss Universe Philippines Shamcey Supsup-Lee is hard to miss in her scarlet red dress with chest belt harness styled by Mikee Andrei. She was also the Pinoy Pride 2022 awardee for “Pride That Conquers”. The Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up’s body accessories are by Jose Karganilla while her shoes are by Jojo Bragais.

RABIYA MATEO

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo lights up the room with her gold paillettes tube dress styled by Rainier Dagala. The model-actress says that the piece accentuated her assets and is something she definitely enjoys wearing as a fan of glittery outfits.

MAUREEN WROBLEWITZ

For tonight’s glam rock night, Maureen Wroblewitz went with a Maison Soriano ensemble that strayed from her sweet and timid personality. The sheered black and silver ensemble exuded a bold and edgy aura that wasn’t always seen in the Miss Universe 2021 First Runner-Up.

MAXINE MEDINA

From old hipster jeans to high fashion glam rock outfit, Miss Universe 2016 Maxene Medina is a true rock icon. Tattered denim, leather turtleneck and silver chain embellishments is the kind of stylish but comfortable look Medina was going for—something that embodies her on-the-go personality that’s simple yet charismatic.

KATARINA RODRIGO

With her wonderful one-year-old son Quino in her arm, who is wearing an H&M vest and Guns N’ Roses tee, Katarina Rodrigo struts the red carpet in a leopard dress by Job Dacon and a colorful coat by Neric Beltran.

“I feel like a mafia mother,” says the Miss World Philippines 2018 title holder.

In her last MEGA Ball, which was in 2019, she was accompanied by her husband Niño Barbers. This time around with Barbers in Siargao, she brought along Quino as she was currently breastfeeding and wanted to show her son to the world.

HANNAH ARNOLD

Miss International Philippines 2021 Hannah Arnold wears a vintage piece from the late artist and fashion designer Rique Teves. The piece was owned and worn by Zsa Zsa Padilla. Teves was a world renowned artist who transformed his fashion pieces by including his artwork in the design, as seen on the landscape-inspired dress.

Teves also once said, “The actual painting history came from inspiration, the inspiration of living. My creativity is always fresh and was motivated to create art to share the world. I wanted to ensure that my art also connects with other people and makes them happy.”

Arnold’s glam team is composed of her stylist Patrick Henry Mergano, make-up artist Carissa Cielo Medved, and hair stylist Florenz Torrontegui.

GWENDOLYN FOURNOIL

Designer Kannah made Gwendolyn Fournoil’s patterned dress for the night. The crowned queen of Miss World Philippines 2022 admitted that the theme “Glam Rock” is all new to her. Fournoil, with the sweet and conservative image she’s trying to maintain, opted to go out of her comfort zone and explore new style.

SAM SANTA MARIA

Reigning Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2022 Ingrid Santa Maria, more known as Sam, knows all too well what celebrating Filipino craftsmanship and talent is all about. She wears a golden Pablo Cabahug creation that brings out her gorgeous morena skin tone and natural Filipina beauty.
