From the runway to the red carpet, here’s why the Rosette proved to be the must-have accessory this time of the year

Keeping track of the fashion trends nowadays can be tricky. They can go about the industry for a couple months and they make an exit before we even get to try it ourselves. Not only that, micro trends are an added factor seeing that most of them are very much distinct in their own way yet are on top in fashion simultaneously.

As we help you navigate through the busy industry, we managed to pick up a certain detail that is loved by celebrities and designers, the Rosettes.

We’ve seen this motif make its way down the runway early this year. Etro had their share of rosettes during Milan Fashion Week with a rather vivid iteration as the motif scattered across the dress. Meanwhile, Christian Siriano had a blast creating the rosettes in various sizes and shades in his comeback collection in New York Fashion Week.

Since the runway had their moment, it only makes sense for the red carpet to follow in just a few weeks. The recent Brit Awards had Harry Styles wearing a large Rosette choker that elevated his all black ensemble while actresses like Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry rolled up at the Oscars with their rosette decorated gowns. Even Dolly de Leon participated in the trend when she attended the Oscars wearing a double breasted black suit from Philosophy that had a bright red rosette by the collar.

We’re definitely taking the chance to talk about the obvious rosette in Jisoo’s recent solo track called Flower. The K-Pop singer styled the motif in various ways but the most famous of all was her palms decorated with roses—a trend that’s been going around on TikTok.

Local brands are also picking up on the latest fad. Launching a new collection just today, Rosbert Villar incorporated the dainty motif in his collection that embraces such soft femininity and modernity.

Although there’s another designer who has been including the motif in her designs before the trend even peaked, and it’s none other than Patty Ang. An affinity for anything feminine and contemporary, the designer often plays with motifs that express such delicate beauty and the rosette is one of them.

One thing to take note of is that there are a few more dainty fads rising such as bows and peplum tops—all derived from the hyper feminine trend we’re seeing recently. This trend might’ve popped up in your feed as they are currently translated with either a subtle design or a bolder look. This goes to show the versatility of a simple detail–-an easy way to elevate any ensemble.

The rosette proved to be a gender neutral accessory despite its origin. The dainty motif can give a charming detail to a simple sundress but it can also have an edgy finish for those who have a knack for twisting things up in their style. Either way, it’s safe to say that the rosette might just be the perfect accessory as we welcome the summer heat this time of the year.
