To prevent it from happening, we listed down five ways on how to not outshine the bride with these five fashion tips.

Cardinal rule of not wearing white

Wearing white or any cream colored shade to a wedding is a big no-no unless you’re the one walking down the aisle. Unfortunately, there has been a trend of guests arriving at a wedding clad in such colors and this is an occurrence that should be refrained. There are countless colors to choose from so better not play pretend bride for the day.

Always follow the dress code

We definitely have it easier since themes, color palettes, and motifs are applied in weddings nowadays. This gives the entire production a cohesive execution and serves as a guide for guests on how to not overstep with their ensembles. These dress codes narrow down the search for dresses as well. Unless it’s stated that it’s a black tie affair, never stray from the dress code.

Keep it understated

Another thing to be mindful of is your choice of fabric. Most of the time, dresses finished with lace, florals, or embellishments are associated with the bride, so these are the do-not-touch textures you should keep in mind. For better options, you can opt to wear satin or silk for an elegant finish.

Be mindful of the accessories

Echoing the message of keeping it understated, accessories should also be kept to a minimum. A minimalist look for jewelry is the best way to go, but an alternative to this is having one statement piece topped off with simple trinkets.

Wear bearable heels

It’s a wedding, so you’re there to enjoy and not tolerate the pain of wearing high heels. The beauty of wearing long dresses is that you can wear your choice of shoes to ensure utmost comfort that needs to last the whole program. But if you want to keep your look sleek, you can opt to wear platform stilettos to lessen the discomfort.
