The art and the artist

A vow renewal is a ceremony where a married couple reaffirms their love and commitment to each other. Heart is certainly one for loyalty as she hired the same bridal makeup artist from her wedding to be the one to do her makeup for the vow renewal. Compared to her wedding look from nine years ago, Albert Kurniawan told MEGA that for this ceremony, he went for a more dewy and Igari look on Heart.

“For the makeup look, we went for semi-dewy skin, with apricot color blush dusted on her cheeks and across the bridge of the nose for a more lamig lamigan look or Igari look. And for the lips, we went for a neutral satin nude,” he tells MEGA.

Skin prep is of course essential to leave a lasting radiance on the face. For this process, Albert used the Aivee Bright Eyes Mask, Aivee Crystal Mask, La Mer Lip Balm, and Skin Poem Hydrating and Brightening Mist. For her base, he used the Luminous Radiant Primer and the Ultimate Skin Master Foundation in the shade Nude from Teviant. From the same collection, he also used the concealer in the shade Lisbon and the loose powder in the color Illuminating. Meanwhile, the finishing powder he used on her was the MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC30.

The Igari-style blush on her cheeks, on the other hand, is owed to Teviant’s Deity Dust in the shade First Date, a trio face palette with contour, highlight, and blush. To enhance Heart’s eyebrows, Albert used the Teviant Eyebrow Duo Powder in Queen, and for her eyes, the Teviant Eye Intensifier in the color Nipah, topped it with his Liquid Eyeliner Pen in the color Virago. For eyeshadow, Albert relied on the Bobbi Brown Ember Lights Eyeshadow Palette, plus the black eyeshadow from Makeup By Mario to lightly smudge her black eyeliner.

No makeup look is complete without the lips. For Heart’s, Albert used multiple products to create the precise nude shade we see in her bridal photos. To line her lips, he used the MAC Lip Pencil in the shade Spice. For her lipstick base, he used the Teviant Velvet Drop in the color Sex Appeal. He then topped this with the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipstick in the shade Rosewood. For an added shine on her lips, he used the Chanel Levres Scintillantes, a lip gloss in the shade 206 Beige Star.

To lock all these products in and maintain her dewiness all day long, Albert used the Scott Barnes Downright Dewy Mist as the finishing touch.
