Constantly learning and opening herself up to new opportunities, the fashion maven excitedly enters a new era this year—one marked by progress in the areas of her relationships, her career, and most especially in her finances. Helping her achieve her newfound goals is GCash as she joins forces with the Philippines’ top finance app to open doors to better spending, saving, and investing habits. Through this collaboration, they hope to inspire more Filipinos to enter their own era of financial progress.

Unleashing her creative side

Set in a sea of blue lights and pillar LED screens in The Shooting Gallery, guests were in for a surprise when they learned that they would be a part of a live filming of the first episode of GCash Spotlight hosted by renowned TV personality and host Boy Abunda, adding his signature charm and wit to the show.

Among the flurry of guests who were part of the audience were actress Chynna Ortaleza, host Tim Yap, fashion influencers, Laureen Uy and Patricia Prieto, and designer Rosenthal Tee. The launch was also attended by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas representatives, President and CEO of Mynt Martha Sazon, and Globe Group CEO and President Ernest Cu.

The beginning of the episode saw Evangelista gushing about her involvement in the campaign. She was not just the face of the collaboration, she took charge of the creative direction and storyboarding of the four videos produced to show the conveniences of paying with GCash.

“[The content] that you see on my social media, I’m very engaged in visualizing and planning all of them. I always have my [story]boards and sketches. For this collaboration, I have a lot on my mind that each scenario you see in the campaign, it’s really me,” emphasizes Evangelista on her hands-on approach in planning and conceptualizing her campaign with GCash.

In these films, the brand ambassador is seen dining in Paris, indulging in her favorite street food in Manila, preparing for a fashion shoot, and painting as her pastime, all while using key features of the app.

From fashion maven to finance connoisseur

The GCash Spotlight episode provided an intimate look into Evangelista’s personal finance journey. She shared with Abunda how GCash has been an integral part of her financial transformation.

“Whether it’s managing my everyday expenses or seeking out the best deals, GCash has played a really big role in that. For me, GCash is the best way to pay, because of the ease and convenience it offers for every kind of situation,” shares the multihyphenate artist.

The fashion influencer candidly shares that her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, would utilize GCash Express Send to send “love” through GCash Send Money as a form of affection wherever he is.

Another favorite Heart maximizes is the Scan-To-Pay feature of GCash, which she uses in a multitude of merchants wherever she is for hassle-free payments. While traveling abroad, she can still pay through the GCash Card in just one tap in all her favorite fashion boutiques, restaurants, and retail stores. And when she’s buying her fur babies’ treats and clothes, she can Pay Online with GCash, which also lets her access deals and discounts from her favorite merchants.

All about conveniences

The fashion icon and entrepreneur also shares that she uses the finance app to plan for her future. While she remains dedicated to achieving her goals and fulfilling her career aspirations, Evangelista also acknowledges the importance of financial foresight.

In an engaging game of “Save, Splurge, or Invest,” she revealed how she balances her passion for couture and her future, sharing with Abunda her journey of cultivating a relationship with Schiaparelli and acquiring their coveted avant-garde pieces, all while making responsible financial choices for her future.

She stresses that it’s possible to shop for what you want while practicing healthy saving habits, and shares how GCash helps her to do just that. Through GSave, Heart and fellow GCash users can open personal savings accounts and earn competitive interest rates of up to 6.5% p.a. Through its partner UNObank. Additionally, the multihyphenate artist diversifies her investments and grows her wealth beyond art and fashion by utilizing GStocks PH, an online retail securities trading service provided by AB Capital Securities, Inc., enabling users to invest through a straightforward three-step process.

As the filming of the episode came to a close, the audience caught a glimpse of what lies ahead for Heart and GCash. Upcoming films will showcase the GCash Wealth Management portfolio, featuring innovative services like GSave, GStocks, and GInsure. The aim is to empower Filipinos to make informed financial decisions and secure their futures through the convenience of the app.
