Ready to face the global stage head on, Ivarluski Aseron should still be on your fashion radar.

Ivarluski Aseron designs for the woman we all aspire to be. Polished, sophisticated and with the confidence to dress a little insouciantly, the designer’s style aesthetic could just as easily be used to describe his muses and growing number of fans. If you haven’t heard of Aseron yet, that’s because the designer has kept a pretty low profile, save for a number of major fashion shows and exhibits here and abroad, case in point, Paris Fashion Week.

Ivarluski Aseron is a name that will continue to be on the lips of women for years to come.

Through the efforts of the Fashion Design Trade and Exhibit, Inc. (FDTEI), Aseron was one of four local designers chosen to exhibit their collections and create an indelible mark in the global fashion market. Redefining classic silhouettes with luxurious prints and volume, the Westin, Paris-Vendôme’s grand ballroom could not have been a more perfect backdrop for the designer’s latest collection. Known for his masterful tailoring and fervor for architectural lines, getting inspiration from art and design isn’t something new to Aseron. Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Broad Museum in Downtown, Los Angeles, have also served as inspiration to some of his past creations.

As to be expected, he insisted he doesn’t design with any ordinary woman in mind. Beaming with positive energy, Aseron paints a picture of a curious woman who loves to experiment without being ordinary-one who appreciates quality and the handiwork of a true artist. If such glitz and volume feel dated today, one need only look to Paris to understand the genius behind his work.

Geometric shapes were a prominent motif in his latest collection, lending a new sense of elegance to a season otherwise known for billowy and easy silhouettes. But what really brought the designer’s talent centerstage was his wide variety of fabrications and techniques that lent weightless ease to his pieces, fitting for the season. Acknowledged as an avant garde designer, Aseron became a member of the Young Designers Guild in 1999 and in 2002 became a finalist in the MEGA Young Designer’s Competition. Today, he is currently a member of the Fashion Design Council of the Philippines.

With a career that spans over a decade, the local designer has firmly planted himself on the radar of Manila’s stylish. With a clever knack for mixing artisan techniques with modern shapes and details, and a body of work worthy of international recognition, Ivarluski Aseron is a name that will continue to be on the lips of women for years to come.
