Jayda has loved performing in front of a crowd since she was a child. In fact, for her ninth birthday, she asked for her own concert

This is her story—so far. This is the tale of how Jayda bravely answers the “whats,” “whys,” and “hows” as she navigates this dog-eat-dog world.
Starting our conversation, the songster pinpoints where this journey truly began. “It’s really no surprise na pinili ko rin to go into this field,” the popstar recounts when asked if she had always envisioned pursuing this career. It comes as no shock indeed: she has artistic pedigree as both her parents, Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza, are renowned vocalists in the industry.

With a glint of joy in her eyes, she reminisces about the early days of her first love: music. “I think I knew I wanted to sing professionally when I was nine years old.” With a tinge of embarrassment and humor in her tone, she details her grand birthday party from way back. “Instead of a regular children’s party, I asked for a birthday concert. And it was a full concert with a live band. I came up from the stage on hydraulics and it was at Metro Bar with a crowd of family and friends.”

In a manner that exudes confidence, she confirms that this was indeed the turning point of her now blossoming career: “I think that was the moment that I realized that ‘This feels right, I want to do this professionally.’”
