Famously known for her participation in Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 in 2017, Jennica Sánchez was named Golden Girl of the Night by Zion at MEGA’s 32nd Anniversary Party
MEGA Magazine has withstood time like no other.; It has gone through different phases that have ultimately catapulted it to fame and success—a legend of its own right, even after three decades. This year, upon the return of Creative Chief Patrick Ty, the magazine took bigger and bolder changes, from the masthead to the February physical issue. Leading this transformative change is the February cover girl and ZION Philippines’ ambassador, Heart Evangelista.
Celebrating MEGA’s 32nd Anniversary, celebrities, creatives, and personalities made their way to XYLO, BGC, last February 7, 2024, all glammed up and dressed in voluminous and exaggerated fashion. But among the crowd of oversized bows, puffed sleeves, and long balloon skirts, one of the many who stood out was Jennica Sánchez.
Jennica’s evolution
Even before competing in cycle five of Asia’s Next Top Model in 2017, Jennica Sánchez already had a relationship with MEGA Magazine. This Filipina model and social media maven was named one of MEGAstyle’s Most Beautiful Digital Influencers of 2016, a feat that she achieved with skill, talent, and hard work.
With an eye for style, Sánchez often posts her looks for a special event or a modeling stint on Instagram, marking her as one of the most influential in the fashion world. Given her diverse mix-and-match fits, it’s no surprise that a MEGAStyle article gave her a spotlight on keeping style on point back in 2018. Furthering her modeling career, she joined Converse VLTG For MEGA Fashion Week Holiday 2019 and Noel Crisostomo And Roland Alzate’s Show.
However, Sánchez was not the type to stay put, frozen in time. In the following years, she’s learned to elevate her style, curate her feed, and make a better portfolio, bringing her to international shoots and fashion shows.
Golden Girl of the Night
At the party, MEGA’s Editor-in-Chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro mentioned, “To have made it this far is truly a milestone. And this journey would not be possible if not for the individuals who have made MEGA what it is today.”
This statement is a nod to the executives, collaborators, colleagues, creatives, and even models who have raised the standard of MEGA. As MEGA evolves, so do the people involved, including Sánchez, whom ZION Philippines named the Golden Girl of the Night.
Taking center stage with her larger-than-life ostrich feather fringe hat, Sánchez made herself known. The metallic corset dress created by Just Bonita 8, originally gray, was bathed in red and pink strobe lights, giving it a purplish hue that made her even more vibrant. Her fit, paired with black velvet gloves, satin knee-high stockings, and point-toe stiletto heeled pumps, was reminiscent of a Victorian era with a modern twist.
“Big thanks to MEGA Magazine and Zion Philippines for choosing me as your Golden Girl of the Night. All made possible ’cause of @justbonita8 @bonitapenaranda and her hard work!” she expressed in her Instagram post.
ZION Philippines CEO Mary Cruz and CFO Khelvin Cruz believed that their brand can help with the the guests’ ultimate relaxation after spending a long night of festivities. With ZION, they do not need to go out of their way to find a place to rest.
While the celebration has been fun, it’s also important to remember that the body needs to recover. Health and wellness, after all, are the keys to greater success.
