At the awarding ceremony of the Asian Academy Creative Awards last night, the actress bagged the Best Actress in a Leading Role for The Broken Marriage Vow. The said series is an adaptation of the British show, Doctor Foster. Jodi, who played Jill Victorino-Illustre, personally received the award in Singapore.

In her acceptance speech, the actress mentioned that her win was unexpected. “I always say that it takes a village to be able to produce a wonderful series,” she said, thanking her co-actors, the staff, Dreamscape Entertainment, and ABS-CBN. “This is the highlight of my year!”

Dimples Romana, who was also at the event as a juror and a nominee for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role, embraced Jodi as the awardee got off the stage. In her Instagram post, she once again congratulated the actress for coveting the prestigious accolade.

“You continue to inspire me with your passion and humility,” the actress wrote.

Jodi has an upcoming movie with Coco Martin called Labyu With An Accent, as well as a rumored series comeback with Richard Yap, Gabbi Garcia, and Joshua Garcia for the cross project between ABS-CBN and GMA.
