Apart from shows and movies, music videos tell love stories best. In a way, they already act as short films having their own characters, plot, and soundtrack all in one retelling. And once upon a song, our very own favorite love teams, namely Kathniel, Jadine, Joshlia, Sethdrea, and Kimerald starred in their own music videos. Although these pairings have chosen to go their separate ways today, we will always have these music videos as a remembrance of the magic of their reel and real chemistry from the past.

JaDine in The Life
Dubbed as the Team Real couple, James Reid and Nadine Lustre made us swoon over their partners in crime-turned-romance story. Besides playing fictional characters in their several projects together, they once starred as their real selves in James’ music video, “The Life.” It became a passion project of the two, with Nadine even directing it. Adding a more sentimental vibe to this was the compilation of their travel videos from Dubai, France, Japan, and Siargao.
KathNiel in Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay
Since 2011, we have witnessed the evolution of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s partnership as co-workers and life partners, so it’s no surprise that their recent breakup announcement hit a little too close to home for their supporters and other Filipinos. While their film, The Hows Of Us, is greatly referenced nowadays for a relationship that turned sour, we have another material from the two to keep us feeling the romance. Who knew playing lovers who keep finding each other for better or worse in Ben&Ben’s “Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay” will hit harder this time for KathNiel fans?
SethDrea in Binibini
Starring in one of their last projects before separating, Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin played a broken up couple whose story was told in reverse, beginning with the end and the final show showing their first interaction. Giving justice to the personas in Zack Tabudlo’s track, they depicted the carefree, puppy love in the music video as they danced in the rain. Years from now, a reunion project will be an exciting project to look forward to.
JoshLia in Paubaya
When Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto starred in Moira’s “Paubaya,” fans received closure that they needed. If the short montage of the two’s past moments together added a nostalgia effect to the whole video, hearing their personal dialogues for each other were also a tug in our hearts as they captured what they went through as a couple. Even at the happiest and saddest moments of the video, their chemistry was undeniably present.
KimErald in Love Team
Taking us further into the past, the teenage selves of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson starred in the music video of Itchyworms’ “Love Team.” The message of the song came from the perspective of a persona played by Gerald, who was involved in a love team and wishing to make their reel romance to be true to life. This was one of their first projects together as a love team after they exited the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2006.
