Once you feel that first crisp breeze, you know that it’s already the onset of the cold season. And as the new season arrives, we are given yet another invitation to express our individuality in a world of opportunities—as Josie Natori would say, “there are no boundaries.”
This season, Josie addressed the need to dress the modern woman for all aspects of her life. Alongside introducing more casual separates to allow every lady to mix and match, she decided to use a color palette and fabrications that are “seasonless,”and therefore more versatile.
Her inspiration was the concept of Japonisme, making her pieces romantic, yet playful and eclectic—from a softly tailored twill, cotton poplin, and knits in velvet and cashmere blends, to dressier satins, velvet devore, and signature silk and jacquard prints.
The playful colorations of her collection emanated an eclectic spirit the impeccably showcased daring juxtapositions of hues such as the gilded mink green with the duchess rose. Fanciful pop of colors also include orchid pink, persimmon, and imperial violet.
Adding to the eclecticism is the emboldened embroidery statements of the season, where the peacock emerged as the season’s icon. Cue the feminine embroidered lightweight twill duster coat, a stand-out peacock beaded sating bomber jacket, and an all-over embroiled statement coats.
Josie Natori’s Fall 2018 collection is now available in Rustan’s branches nationwide.
