As we keep up with our own biases, here are some of the biggest news that you shouldn’t miss from your favorite K-Pop idols:
Shining in their own light
It is an inevitable fact that group members will eventually forge their own paths. With solo projects, idols grow by themselves as artists, and it’s now BLACKPINK Jisoo’s turn. YG Entertainment confirms that Jisoo has started filming the music video for her long-anticipated solo debut. The company has been mum on the exact location of the shoot, but some eagle-eyed fans noticed some of the team’s stories in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, K-Pop sensation BTS may be on break for now, but we’re surely expecting exciting things from them. First on the list is Jimin’s first solo album, Face, coming this March 24. And as Dior’s newest ambassador, it’s safe to say that we will be seeing him at Paris Fashion Week, too.
On the other hand, V showcases his intern skills on Jinny’s Kitchen, a TV series that’s now up on YouTube and soon on Amazon Prime. SUGA also dropped his world tour announcement just a few days ago, followed by a tour poster yesterday.
Getting back on stage
The challenge of SM stans, especially EXO-Ls and Mys, is the waiting game for their favorites’ new music. But they are in for a treat this 2023 with both EXO’s and Aespa’s comebacks possibly happening from April to June, courtesy of a news article spreading around on Twitter. With EXO’s Kai planning one this March, the group comeback may just come after.
Meanwhile, Aespa’s first concert, SYNK: HYPER LINE, is already happening this weekend.
The schedule of ONCEs are also jam packed with TWICE’s comeback and world tour happening this March and April, respectively. As of writing, only dates from the North America leg have only been released. For MISAMO, the group’s first sub-unit composed of Japanese members Momo, Sana, and Mina, will also debut this summer.
