Who says repeating outfits is a fashion crime? Well, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, says otherwise. The royal is not only known for her philanthropic work, but she’s also become a fashion icon on her own. Wearing elegant pieces from designer labels, Kate Middleton is not shy of being accused as an outfit repeater. In fact, we think it’s refreshing to see and makes a statement about fashion sustainability.
Here are some outfits Kate Middleton has reworn over the years:
Alexander McQueen Dress
Just recently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the first ever Earthshot Prize Awards held in Alexandra Palace in London. For the event, Kate Middleton recycled a lavender Alexander McQueen dress that she first wore for a BAFTA event in Canada in 2011.
Jenny Packham Gown
Kate Middleton first wore this blue-green Jenny Packham number to The Portrait Gala 2014: Collecting to Inspire event held at the National Portrait Gallery. For this, she matched the dress with a vintage Cartier necklace. Later that year, she rewore the dress to attend the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Alexander McQueen Coat Dress
The royal has reworn outfits for major life events too! Kate Middleton donned this Alexander McQueen outfit to two major royal events: first, Princess Charlotte’s Christening in 2015, and second, to Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s royal wedding in 2019.
Barbara Casasola Midi
We can definitely say white is Kate Middleton’s color, and this Barbara Casasola midi dress is just proof of that. She first wore the off-shoulder number to the Art Fund Museum of the Year event in 2016, then again to the UK based charity Action on Addiction Gala dinner.
Dolce & Gabbana Skirt Suit
The Duchess of Cambridge takes business suits to another level with this Dolce and Gabbana ensemble. Kate Middleton first donned this tweed skirt suit to the Royal Foundation’s Mental Health in Education Conference in 2019, and rewore the ensemble to visit the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London in 2020.
