The “Very Good Girl” is a murderer for the way she has been killing awards nights this year so far
Sixth time’s the charm for Kathryn Bernardo and the FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences) Awards. Last night, the actress graced the occasion to receive her Best Actress accolade for her performance as Mercy and Philo in the 2023 film, A Very Good Girl.
At the occasion, the FAMAS Best Actress first timer donned a white, custom drop waist Vania Romoff number, as styled by Kimi and Boop Yap. Keeping it sleek and sophisticated, she sported a clean bun with accent drop earrings and a matching ring from Mei Diamond Jewelry. Completing Kathryn’s clean girl look, Owen Sarmiento paired John Valle’s bun with a peach-toned glam that was fresh and fit for the occasion.
“Noong tinganggap ko ang pelikulang A Very Good Girl, hindi naman po ako nag-eexpect ng any awards or nominations. Tinanggap ko ang proyektong ito dahil naniwala po ako sa materyal at nagtiwala ako sa mga kasama ko,” the Kapamilya actress said in her speech. “This movie, A Very Good Girl, is a product of hard work, love, and passion. So, maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta, sa lahat ng nagbigay ng oras, at sa lahat ng nagmahal sa pelikula namin. Sana sa lahat ng Mercy at Philo sa mundo, sana nabigyan ko kayong lahat ng boses.”
She also thanked Dolly De Leon, Petersen Vargas, and Star Cinema for their collective win. Finishing off her speech, Kathryn acknowledged her co-nominees as well, which include Marian Rivera, Charlie Dizon, Sharon Cuneta, Eugene Domingo, and Maricel Soriano.
After A Very Good Girl, Bernardo will return to theaters as Joy in Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to Hello, Love, Goodbye. Alden Richards, as Ethan, will also reprise his role in the Cathy Garcia-Sampana film.
