KC Concepcion is Back to Acting in the New Film Asian Persuasion

She’s gone to places and she’s done many things! But this year, the multi-hyphenate darling is going back to one of her first loves—acting.

In her post for her 37th birthday, multi-hyphenate KC Concepcion announced that she’s back in New York for her comeback in acting.

She is starring as Avery in Asian Persuasion, a romcom in production. The film features a mainly Asian cast and crew with Mike Ang and Jhet Tolentino as the writer and director, respectively.

The story centers on a chef named Mickey (Dante Basco) who’s trying to re-pursue his ex-wife, Avery (Concepcion), just to evade alimony payments by scheming with his best friend, Caspian (Kevin Kreider).

Toni Gonzaga was originally casted as Avery but had to step down from the role due to conflicts in her schedule. Alongside Concepcion and Basco, other Filipino actors such as Rachel Alejandro, Apl.de.Ap, Tony Labrusca, and Yam Concepcion will also star in the said movie.

As of writing, the production team is on their third day of filming. The movie is set to be released in 2023.

KC has been exposed to the world of show business, particularly acting, at a very young age. As the daughter of the Megastar Sharon Cuneta and actor Gabby Concepcion, KC has made a name for herself in the industry as an actress, host, commercial model and singer. Her last movie stint was Boy Golden in 2013.

She also dabbles with jewelry designing and vlogging, and is also an ambassador for World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines and World Food Programme.
