We May Have Lost A President, But Kris Aquino And Her Sisters Lost Their Only Brother

The nation mourns today as June 24, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has passed away at the age of 61. Aside from his contributions during his 6 years as President, his death also leaves a pressing mark on his four sisters.

In their first public appearance since PNoy’s passing, Kris Aquino, Victoria Elisa Aquino-Dee, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, and Pinky Aquino-Abellada came together in Taguig City to share the details of their only brother’s passing.

In the written statement read by the second-oldest sister, Pinky, the family shared that Noynoy died peacefully in his sleep and was pronounced dead by 6:30 AM. His cause of death was “renal disease secondary to diabetes.”

They furthered that despite public outcry to comment on his health, Noynoy remained steadfast in keeping his image low-key.

“Mission accomplished, Noy. Be happy now with Dad and Mom,” Pinky had concluded.

Donning all-black outfits and facing a wall of media practitioners, the scene might seem like a quick press briefing for a deceased President, but for Kris and her sisters, it is a testament of the trials the four must go through to grief for their brother. After all, Benigno was the lone male confidante who had mourned alongside them the during the passing of both parents.

The Queen Of All Media herself has yet to issue a separate statement on the matter.
