KZ and Morissette On How Their Friendship Began And Why They’re Happiest Now

KZ and Morissette, wearing Flormar makeup and nail polish, have a fun and lively conversation with MEGA Entertainment about why artists should have the freedom to express themselves on stage and how an artist’s management team could change everything

This is an excerpt from MEGA Entertainment’s October 2023 Issue

Being unapologetically proud and comfortable in the way you present yourself is important. That and their language connection—their mother tongue is Cebuano—made Morissette, “Asia’s Phoenix,” and KZ Tandingan, “Asia’s Soul Supreme,” click more than a decade ago, when they first met.

However, it’s a shared aspiration that truly binds these two talents: to champion those who boldly express their authentic selves. This month, both stars engage in a conversation with MEGA Entertainment to underscore the significance of individualism.

MEGA Entertainment was greeted with a room filled with bright-colored pieces and neons—as colorful as the performances of the two stars we were about to shoot. It was a challenge to pin them down, given that their careers are always on record high.

Apart from their music, left and right shows both here in the Philippines and abroad, both will soon dabble in their respective film projects. Now that the shoot has pushed through, thanks to makeup brand Flormar, whose products are as fun and lively as the shoot and the clothes, the friends finally had what they called, “a moment to unwind.”

“I got to spend the whole afternoon with Morissette and the team, and it was so fun,” KZ tells us.

Morissette adds, “We always have a good time. Me and KZ, especially as Bisaya, parang nasa bahay lang kami na nagkukulitan. It’s so much fun to experiment with looks with Flormar and MEGA Entertainment.”

BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL

Morissette is celebrating her 13th year in the industry, while KZ is on her 11th. Though there has been more than a decade of shows and concerts, both of them say that their looks for this shoot are new for both of them. “Hindi ito ’yong usual,” says Morissette. “I’m happy.”

KZ and Morissette are presently the faces of Flormar, a Turkish makeup brand that entered the Philippine market earlier this year. With an extensive array of products and shades at their disposal, these two musical powerhouses have had the opportunity to experiment further with their appearances and performances throughout this year.
