Look-Back Lookbook: Pre-Fall 2023 Trend Report

By

We’re here to bring you the runway trend report of the last season of the year

As we now enter a new year, we look back on the line of collections that introduced us to the ensembles we can do before fall hits. Houses such as Christian Dior and Givenchy made their presence known in December with their staple looks.

While some of the details overlap with the 2022 and upcoming 2023 trends, we can’t deny how these pre-fall styles easily exude a sleek and clean aesthetic. So, before new looks take center stage, here’s a quick runway breakdown of the last shows of the previous year.

Soft hues

During the transition of spring to fall, we were not surprised to see hues of light shades combined with the staple colors of the season. These shades were finished with classic silhouettes such as trench coats and turtlenecks.

Leather works

When we say overlapping trends, we weren’t joking. Leather pieces were done in a billowy silhouette for outwear, while bottoms were finished with straight cuts.

Knee hemlines

This cut might be awkward to some, but on the runway, designers often styled them with knee-high boots, stockings, and ankle-length coats to make sure the overall look is chic and clean.

Subtle prints

Unlike loud patterns and designs, the pre-fall collections included simple pieces donned in prints that aren’t too much to the eyes. These were easily paired with pieces that are in the same hues, and with clothing staples for an overall effortless look.

Brown paint

When talking about the fall season, incorporating a brown shade on any article of clothing is a must. Seen in different tones and finishes, the classic autumn shade was explored in numerous ways that can be styled with such comfort—perfect before the fall comes in.
