Louis Vuitton Cruises in Italy: A Trend Report and Celebrities Spotted

Held at the Isola Bella, Louis Vuitton presented their Women’s Cruise collection with these five trends watched by famous personalities

Surrounded by nature, magnificent interiors, and beautiful architecture, Louis Vuitton captured the essence of the island with their new Women’s Cruise 2024 collection. Inspired by the water and the tales passed on as time progressed, Nicolas Ghesquiere presented a line of pieces that exude adventure with a touch of idyllic.

After a successful show at Isola Bella, it’s time to look back on the collection to roundup the trends we spotted on the runway.

Historical interiors

One of the elements the collection was inspired by was the decor of Isola Bella. Walls were adorned with patterns reminiscent of the Baroque period, as well as the stained glass most of us would often see in chapels. Some of the pieces were heavily inspired by the art—seen on dresses finished with draping, jumpsuits, and layered ensembles.

Mythical inspirations

Growing up with tales of the Atlantic and their mythical creatures, there was a hint of nostalgia and wonder in the collection. Fins were incorporated in their jackets and collars, majestic headpieces were paired with streetwear ensembles, while neoprene fabrics were printed with images of scales.

Grand muses

Finished with grandeur, some of the pieces in the end captured the serenity of the sea. The palette had a lighter tone compared to the first round of clothing since they were then adorned with embellishments that were done with such intricacy.

Formed by the sea

Having the sea as a direct inspiration created a line of pieces bearing comparison to it. The gowns had soft materials on the body, while ruffles and panels of silk were added to form traces of sea foam as the hems were done with a stiff fabric to create shapes of waves.

Vivid handbags

Classic Louis Vuitton bags made their appearance on the runway, but in colors similar to the collection. From pastel blue, orange and blue color combos, to embellished finished bags—all of these were added to tie the collection together.

It won’t be a fashion show without Louis Vuitton’s staple guest list seated at the front row. Their list of attendees spanned from western celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Phoebe Dynevor, and Emma Stone, and popular asian faces like Felix from StrayKidz, Heart Evangelista, and Bryanboy.
