Louis Vuitton showcases its Spring/Summer 2022 collection, and ends Paris Fashion Week with the ball of dreams.
In what seems like a travel through time, Louis Vuitton brings us its Spring/Summer 2022 collection straight from Paris. Described by Nicholas Ghesquière as the “grand bal of time,” the fashion event was nothing short of spectacular—truly a treat for all attendees and fashion lovers alike.
As the last show for Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton truly showed “save the best for last” is a real thing, as the fashion house ends the Paris Fashion Week with a ball—literally. Held at the Louvre Museum, the collection featured beautifully embellished gowns that reminded us of the 19th century. Dramatic capes, structured skirts, and bejewelled head pieces and accessories were also featured. The runway was also illuminated with sequinned and metallic gowns, layered with oversized pieces.
For footwear, models strutted the runway in eye-catching open toe wresting boots. Of course, with Louis Vuitton well-known for its iconic hand bags, house codes such as the Petite Malle, Cannes, and Coussin are reimagined for the collection. New pieces were also introduced, such as a new pochette, and a new hand bag that gives a nod to Louis Vuitton’s trunk-making history. Truly show-stopping in every way, a protestor with a sign that read “Overconsumption = Extinction” also made it to the runway.
A collection that is all about transmission, time, day and night, past and present, Louis Vuitton makes us travel through time with its newest collection.
