Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Pre-Fall 2023 Collection: A Trend Report

Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Pre-Fall 2023 Collection: A Trend Report

By

It was an idea built around the notion of Art de Vivre, or the art of living. It’s a perspective the French built around their culture that enables them to see life with such ease, and it’s why they were able to create the thousands of pieces that we now consider the pinnacle of art. Louis Vuitton takes this view to heart from the very beginning and we see it come to life once again as they present their Women’s Pre-Fall collection in Seoul—a beautiful merge between cultures and traditions with the Maison’s codes.

The collection has become a fusion of the traveling principles Louis Vuitton has established throughout the years and the distinct art Seoul has introduced to the world with their impressive influence. And as we look back at the historical night, we list down the five trends that reigned on the runway.

Sleek paneling

A tailored look for the fall is definitely a must for any fashion house. For Louis Vuitton’s case, their clean paneling merged with playful silhouettes. Leather panels move across certain dresses and tweed shorts, while coats were finished with subtle detailing—all creating a minimalist yet innovative look.

Modernized Hanbok

In true art of traveling, Louis Vuitton paid homage to the country they presented in. The Hanbok presents a silhouette that is very much well-loved in Korea in both traditional and modern iterations. Intricate patterns and delicate fabrics were used in their coordinated ensembles, which were then cinched in with a modern version of the goreum or more commonly known as coat strings.

Biker chic

This look is a nod to the vintage fashion of before, which then became one of the highest trends last year. They had a variety of silhouettes and finishes like their straight cut and sleek jumpers, and some were even playful enough to experiment with their colors and paneling.

Puffed silhouette

With gorpcore still on the rise in the global scene, it’s no surprise that Louis Vuitton is still riding on the trend in their own way. The puffer silhouette was interpreted through the Maison’s expertise in tailoring as seen on the oversized coats, as well as their vinyl and faux fur jackets.

New codes

This collection was essentially heavy in their accessories. This includes buckles featuring two large hoops secured with Louis Vuitton’s signature lock, the Trunk that was finished in a smaller size and new color combinations, and the return of the Alma Epi Leather bag that was seen in various pops of colors.
