To say that Maine Mendoza’s lipstick collaboration with MAC Cosmetics was the talk of the town would be an understatement. When the star finally revealed to the public her lipstick shade–a flattering peachy nude–everyone wanted to get their hands on the product.

To create her shade, Maine flew to Canada herself to have the lipstick shade formulated in the MAC Lab. Because we simply wanted to know more about what went down behind the scenes, we spoke to MAC Cosmetics to learn more about the exciting MAC Maker campaign.
“Maine visited the MAC lab in Toronto, Canada last January together with 11 other influencers from other countries,” starts Nicole Tejano, PR & Artist Relations Executive of MAC Cosmetics Philippines. “We gave her a tour and showed her the process of creating a lipstick. She was then partnered to a chemist–who also happened to be Filipina!–so that Maine would be guided in formulating her own lipstick.”
For MAC, it was only natural that Maine would be a part of the international campaign because she loved the brand from the very beginning. When she revealed that she loved the lipstick shade Ruby Woo, it was big news for the brand.
“It was important for us to do this collaboration right since this is the first time we would be having our own MAC Maker to represent the Philippines. We wanted someone who has always been using MAC so that the relationship would be authentic,” adds Nicole. “Maine was always a top choice for us.”
