In their official new media alert, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes revealed what made them say yes to their film with Star Cinema
Giving their romance a reel comeback, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes will finally work together again after almost a decade!

At the new media alert yesterday, ABS-CBN Films Head and Managing Director Kriz Gazmen announced DongYan as the newest love team to topbill a Star Cinema film. Revealing the key art and the project title, Dingdong officially announced Rewind as his reunion project with his wife.
A rewind to their past
“Finally! Makakasama ko ulit si ‘Dong sa isang napakagandang pelikula!” Marian said in her introduction. “Makikita niyo na ang kissing scene namin sa malaking telebisyon! ‘Di na siya secret!” she joked.
Dingdong, on the other hand, expressed his excitement on working with Marian once again. The last movie of the reel-turned-real couple was You to Me Are Everything in 2010. According to the actor, “I always look forward to working with [Marian]. Mas lalo na ngayon sa big screen kasi ang tagal naming hindi nagsama. Sa bahay, iba dynamics namin. Sa set, iba rin. Excited akong mabalikan ‘yung ganu’n namin,” he shared.
A move forward
Joining the two in their media conference is movie director Mae Cruz-Alviar, screenwriter Enrico Santos, creative director Carmi Raymundo, and creative manager Daisy Cayanan-Mejares.
Cruz-Alviar, who worked with Dingdong in the 2013 film She’s The One, revealed the long process of making the movie happen. “This project was offered to us in 2020 pa. I didn’t know if this was gonna push through. Pero ito, matutuloy na siya. Kaya feeling ko, I think it’s meant to be—in God’s perfect time.” Santos, meanwhile, pointed out that there was no pairing that could fit the roles except the two.
The movie, a family drama with a twist on magic realism, takes on second chances and how far one can go for it. Cayanan-Mejares added, “This movie, specifically, is not just a way to look at our relationships with our family. But it’s also a way to look at the way we live our lives.”
A yes to Rewind
What made Dingdong and Marian agree to the project? The Kapuso stars said that the script was a big factor. DongYan took turns in expressing their remarkable experience in reading the script.
The actress began, “Parang bawat kwento sa’kin, bawat paglipat ko ng pahina du’n sa script, parang walang tapon sa script, eh. Walang dahilan para hindi ko ‘to gawin. Tatamaan ka talaga, mamomove ka talaga sa mga linya, sa mga nangyayari.”
Dingdong followed up, “Sa tingin ko, bilang audience, makikita mo ‘yung sarili mo sa mga characters.”
Finishing off their exchange, Marian concluded, “Sa madaling salita, ito ‘yung pelikulang alam naming magiging proud ‘yung mga anak namin sa’min.”
Rewind is the first project of Marian Rivera under Star Cinema. As of now, no further details have been revealed.
