Superstar diva and Filipina drag artist Marina Summers opens Miss Universe Philippines 2024 with a performance of her song AMAFILIPINA, an adaptation of Maymay Entrata’s song AMAKABOGERA.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World finalist Marina Summers released this song to talk about Filipina pride, as she was the only Pinay and Asian representative during the drag race competition. The performance also saw reigning Miss Universe 2023 Michelle Dee, who surprised the nation with a dance of her own. The beauty queen and the drag queen set the stage on fire and kicked the competition off with a bang.
For Miss Universe Philippines 2024, the lyrics, “Gold in my skin, I’m the Filipina Queen,” are apt for tonight’s competition. The queens also joined Marina Summers with a synchronized choreography.
The drag queen entered the stage in a red sheer-like gown with exaggerated details and drapes by Neric Beltran. She then detached this outerwear gown during the performance to reveal a shining silver bodysuit with a tassel fringed skirt by designer Rian Fernandez and styled by Paul Sese.
OPM band Lola Amour behind viral hit Raining in Manila and Thai superstar Win Metawin will also be performing tonight.
53 Candidates are competing for the crown and title of Miss Universe 2024. The winner will be representing the country in the Miss Universe 2024 competition in Mexico City.
