A wave of young individuals are bringing fresh perspectives to the creative ecosystem. For the July issue, MEGA spotlights a crop of young talents who are making a mark in the creative industries today
Creativity thrives on diverse minds and novel, wide-ranging perspectives—qualities that typify the youth. The creative industries rely heavily on the contributions of young and emerging artists who are driven by purpose, characterized by information and fact-driven behavior, and have a hunger for collaboration and change. In honor of MEGA’s July Electric Youth issue, take a look at the young talents pushing boundaries in today’s creative industries:

Designers
Young designers pack the pages of MEGA’s July issue—their creativity, artistry, and approach to storytelling spotlighted. Prince Padilla, the MEGA Young Designers Competition’s champion, and two other finalists, Vic Fajatin and Akio Barreiro, are getting ready to take Philippine fashion by storm. Seph Samson, Micca Amor, Katelyn Aquino, Jan Charlotte Venzon, Ulysses Caragayan, and Iñigo Villegas are also emerging ones-to-watch in the industry. Other contestants who made their mark in the MEGA Young Designers Competition are Renz Reyes, Sandro Dela Peña, and Dino Bancoro.
Photographers
Our eyes to the beauty and fashion world, all great image-makers have a fresh and energetic points of view. Gail Geriane, Karl King Aguña, Daryl Nacario, and Lyndon Kyle Asuncion are part of this generation’s emerging photographers who shape a more painterly, vivid, colorful, and inclusive visual world with their shots.
Hairstylists
When it comes to the tresses, Carlo Roblico, Jashmine Caroline, Gab Villegas, Jhed De Leon, Patty Cristobal, and TJ Rimocal possess the Midas touch. Each look left on their clients’ tresses are celebratory and beautifully intricate—everything that hairdressing should be.
Artists
Young artists in the music industry have proved themselves to be not just one-hit wonders, but formidable forces in the pop, R&B, or the general Original Pinoy Music firmament. Hitmakers Denise Julia and Alamat’s Jao Canlas are rising to the top of the charts with their music.
Makeup Artists
Young artists Janica Cleto, Thazzia Falek, Lee Aquino, James Francisco, and Miki Luison understand the magic of each tube and palette, and cast a spell on the face with their brush—they know how to groom our brows, coax our makeup into performing its best on camera, and bounce light across our features. These new generation makeup artists don’t follow the rules. They make them.
Models
The new class of models Kayla Carter, Queenie Tao, Chrysler Logica, Brea Umali, Saint Yves, Onie De Guzman, Angelina and Renée Hartshorne, and Sophia from Luminary Models are populating the runway, adding memorable sparks to the seasons’ collections.
Multimedia Artist
Since emerging onto the Philippine art scene, Sofia Cope has made profound contributions to visual art, and holistic, graphic design. Art is a delicate, balancing act—and Sofia is shining in this respect.
Production Designer
This creative space-maker Jeo Luis Jingco is an unsung hero, quietly curating the scene that brings a fashion story to life. As the standard bearer for production design, Jeo knows how to design and conjure just the right set to make a fashion image sing.
Nail Artist
Elina Jung proves that your visage isn’t the only avenue for self-expression. Nails, too, serve as a great canvas—and Eli’s expertise and aesthetical eye can give you the manicure of your dreams.
Content Creators
The youth are always creating multi-platform experiences to spark ideological change. They are characterized by their always-online nature: fact-driven, collaborative, and bold in their self-expressions. Among the current cohort of influentials are Francheska Lhian, food content creator Abi Marquez, and our very own MEGAStyle Circle ambassadors: Cess Tan, Kaira Mack, Marga Nicolas, Clyde Amadeo, Third, and Ray Managuelod.
