MEGA spoke with beauty insiders who revealed that 2025 is set to usher in beauty’s best, most advanced era yet
2024 was all about pared-down routines and “yourself but better” aesthetics. But 2025 is here to remind us that beauty thrives on evolution. In the new year, we lean into bold reinvention, from big hair and opalescent finishes to skin health that blurs the lines between science and skin. MEGA talks to industry insiders Paul Nebres, Jake Galvez, Agoo Azcuna-Bengzon, and Nicole Morales for a front-row look at what’s next in beauty.

Go Big or Go Home
Big hair is back, and it’s louder than ever. Hairstylist to the stars Paul Nebres says it’s all about volume—big hair with effortless curls—and shares expert tips on maintaining them.
How To Work It Into Your Routine: Paul keeps it simple. He advises finding the right shampoo and conditioner duo that suits your hair type, as well as proper drying—as damp hair can breed bacteria and scalp issues. When styling, he says to invest in heat-safe tools such as those from Dyson and use hair products with UV protection before doing so and going out. At night, switch to satin or silk pillowcases to reduce friction and keep your style intact.
Why It Matters: For Paul, voluminous hair is more than just a hairstyle. It’s poised to influence a broader shift, celebrating individuality, creativity, and self-expression. “As a hairstylist for celebrities, I see this inspiring more innovative approaches to beauty, encouraging people to experiment and embrace their unique styles,” he shared.
The Shade Shifters
Makeup artist Jake Galvez predicts 2025 will shine with duo-chrome finishes and color-changing makeup. “Think eyeshadows, lip colors and glosses, and highlighters that shift between colors. It’s bold, futuristic, and totally versatile,” Jake shared.
How To Work It Into Your Routine: Jake recommends focusing on one feature. “For example, use a duo-chrome eyeshadow as a full color all over the lids or just a holographic lip gloss to transform a simple makeup look,” he explained. Keep the rest of the face minimal to create balance, or layer these dynamic products over neutral tones for a subtle, dimensional finish.
Why It Matters: The trend builds on creativity and having fun. “Imagine walking into a room and your eyeshadow shifts from gold to green, or your highlighter gives off a cool purple sheen under party lights. It’s an instant conversation starter!” shared Jake. It’s maximalism at its most playful and expressive.
The Exosome Revolution
Exosomes are about to revolutionize skincare, says Agoo Azcuna-Bengzon, MEGA Beauty Director. “Beauty and wellness aficionados are already hooked on biotech-driven advancements like NAD+ and exosomes—skincare innovations that promote cell rejuvenation to achieve radiant, healthy skin at the molecular level,” she shared.
How To Work It Into Your Routine: Agoo shared that exosomes pair perfectly with your existing treatments like micro-needling, Softwave, and Thermage. “Exosomes will actually enhance the penetration of active ingredients, plus accelerate the skin’s healing process so that downtime is minimized while results are maximized,” she explained. It’s a win-win for the skin.
Why It Matters: The MEGA Beauty Director envisions a future where professional-grade results inch closer to home. “I see exosomes eventually becoming the type of treatment you can do without a technician,” she shared. “It’s all about bringing professional treatments to the comfort of your own home minus the risks.”
Fountain of Youth
Biostimulation is the next big thing, says Nicole Morales, Founder of The Beauty Edit.
Many have grown interested in biostimulators due to their transformative results. “They are an innovative class of treatments that stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that give our skin its firmness, elasticity, and youthful glow,” Nicole explained. Unlike traditional filters, these work gradually and give more natural effects.
From calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) to polylactic acids and polynucleotides, biostimulators offer something for everyone, but the secret lies in subtlety.
How To Make It Work For You: Nicole tackled the importance of intelligent restraint. “My tip is to start with a trusted doctor who understands subtle enhancement and natural results. Less is truly more. You want treatments that refresh—and not overpower—your features,” she advised.
Why It Matters: These treatments rewire how we think about aging. “The beauty scene is already shifting towards a mindset of ‘natural enhancement’—where looking youthful doesn’t mean erasing every line or wrinkle, but embracing a fresher, healthier version of yourself,” Nicole shared.
It’s a pleasant reminder that youthfulness is more than skin deep. Instead of fixating on every fine line or wrinkle, we zoom in on the big picture—a healthier, revitalized, and authentic version of you. And if this is the future of beauty, we’re poised to be in its best era yet.
