Evelyn Jimenez stands out not just for her role, but for how she plays it: with empathy, integrity, and responsibility
In the male-dominated industry of telecommunications, Evelyn Jimenez exemplifies the value of nurturing leadership. As DITO Telecommunity’s Chief Revenue Officer-Consumer (CRO), she uplifts, nurtures, and inspires, emphasizing that leadership is more than simply wielding power; it is also about directing with empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Leading with Purpose
For Jimenez, leading DITO is more than a role; it’s a calling. “It’s not easy, especially in an industry so heavily dominated by men,” she shares. “I feel blessed and privileged to be in this position. It’s not just about leading a workforce; it’s about caring for their well-being, ensuring they are on the right path in life, not just in work.”
This sense of responsibility permeates every aspect of her leadership. She views her role not just as a leader, but as a guardian of her team’s holistic growth. It’s about more than hitting targets—it’s about nurturing the potential of every individual, guiding them to become not just better employees, but better people.
Leading the Call
When asked about the unique strengths women bring to leadership, Jimenez is clear: “Women can lead, and we can often do a better job,” she says, not with arrogance, but with the quiet confidence of someone who has seen the proof in action. In DITO, women aren’t just following; they’re leading. With a nearly equal split between male and female leaders, DITO has created an environment where women can thrive, grow, and ultimately lead the call.
Jimenez is quick to point out that leadership isn’t just about taking the helm of an entire company. It starts with leading a small team, fostering growth, and gradually expanding that influence. At DITO, women are given the opportunity to do just that—grow, lead, and break the traditional molds of leadership that have long been male-centric.
Breaking the Glass Ceiling
Jimenez has encountered the challenges of being a woman in leadership, especially as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). But she doesn’t see these challenges as barriers. Instead, she views them as opportunities to leverage her strengths—attention to detail, preparedness, and the ability to ask discerning questions.
“In our MANCOM or Management Committee, where the majority are men, I find that women bring a different, yet crucial perspective,” Jimenez notes.“We’re more prepared, more detailed, and we ask the questions that need to be asked.”
This technique has enabled her to break down barriers and overcome the customary constraints placed on women in leadership. She clarifies that it is not about being trapped or boxed into a role; rather, it is about flexibility, overcoming gender limits, and leading with both head and heart engaged, not enraged.
Uncompromising Integrity and Compassion
Integrity, compassion, and empathy—these are the cornerstones of Jimenez’s leadership philosophy. “It’s not just about the numbers or the profit,” she states firmly.
In an industry where aggressive, dominant leadership styles often reign supreme, Jimenez’s approach is refreshingly different. She believes in discipline, but not at the cost of humanity. “Yes, I’m strict with timelines and work because we need to succeed,” she explains. “But it’s crucial that my team knows I care about them and want the best for them.”
For Jimenez, leadership is synonymous with nurturing. She believes women, by nature, excel at this, bringing a level of care and empathy that fosters true growth within their teams. It’s a style of leadership that doesn’t just get the job done but does so while building up the people who are doing the work.
Leading by Example
As Jimenez continues to lead DITO Telecommunity with a nurturing hand and a firm resolve, she hopes her story will inspire others—women and men alike—to rethink what it means to be a leader. “Leadership isn’t about being the loudest or the most aggressive in the room,” she says. “It’s about compassion, empathy, and nurturing your team to be the best they can be.”
Women are often underrepresented, but Evelyn Jimenez aims to be a trailblazer. By breaking barriers, nurturing her team, and leading with integrity and compassion, she’s proving that the most powerful leadership isn’t about dominance—it’s about care, growth, and the belief that the potential of every individual is in every call.
