Staying true to her identity and purpose, Michelle Dee lands another role to wave our Filipino flag after her Miss Universe flight

By now, it has been established that Michelle Dee has a lot on her plate. She is an actress, beauty queen, endorser, and business owner. On top of it all, she is a role model. And even after her Miss Universe journey, MMD is still the representative of the country. This time around, as the newest ambassador of the Department of Tourism.

Earlier today, the Kapuso star made a courtesy call at the department’s central office and received words of gratitude from Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco. According to Frasco, Michelle served as a voice to remind the world of the many reasons to love the country. The contender, who bagged the National Costume award in the competition, rallied for a number of ideals with the said airplane concept. Tourism promotion in the country was one of them, among the representation of the Philippines as a home.

In an exclusive interview with the costume designer Michael Barrassi, he highlighted the use of rattan-woven solihiya for the bodice, as well as the incorporation of loom fabrics from Cordillera.

Championing Filipino talent in every way that she can, the now-tourism ambassador donned a balintawak draped dress mimicking a sheet of paper. Designer Dee Javier incorporated his TernoCon creation with lines from the Filipino classic literature  Florante at Laura written by Francisco Balagtas. Styled by Ryuji Shiomitsu and his team, the look captures yet another love story that Michelle now writes about the Philippines.

Alongside her Miss Universe Philippines duties, MMD will soon go back to acting for the series Black Rider, with the actress teasing that the audience will see her riding motorcycles once again.
