The reason behind the sudden switch of Michelle Dee’s evening gowns
The night has ended and the Philippines now has a new queen to represent this year’s Miss Universe pageant. Tonight marks the start of Michelle Dee’s journey to the universal crown but we can’t help but turn our attention to her winning gown.
Michelle Dee, who also won Best in Evening Gown, wore a custom Mark Bumgarner gown. The dress had a minimalist aesthetic to it as the black fabric had a clean finish and the sparkling strap that went down to her waist.
Mark Bumgarner also designed the dress she wore for the preliminary round. It shared the same concept as the silhouette had a classic silhouette to give highlight to the thousands of beads and crystals that decorated her gown. The color was personally picked by Michelle since it reflected her personal style.
What truly surprised us though was the sudden switch of gowns. Mark shared in his post that the black dress was supposedly for the preliminary round but made a call to use it for the coronation night. The designer shared that the gown had a sleek look because he wanted Michelle to shine, not the dress. A bold move as most gowns had a sparkling finish to it.
