And just like that, the most beautiful night in the country has come and gone. All eyes were on the main stage as the Miss Universe Philippines candidates compete for the coveted pageant title. It’s certain that the coronation night is teeming with moments that are on a pedestal on their own, but the fashion and beauty moments are equally unforgettable. It began with Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, who made a serious case for softly mattified skin, and Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, who stood out with her bronze goddess look. Mauve shades were surprisingly synonymous with the beauty direction of many candidates, while rouge lipsticks reprised their role as the winning shade of the year.

And as most pageant fans deal with the aftermath of the competition, we look back at all the hair and makeup looks that caught our attention. From the voluminous hair and sleek high pony to mauve lipsticks and rouge shades, every detail is true to the delegates’ personality. Below, we listed the standout beauty details at Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Coronation Night.

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee’s Old Hollywood Glamour look is a scene-stealer. The newly-crowned beauty graced the stage wearing a sultry yet elegant gown designed by Mark Bumgarner, paired with a timeless approach to glam. However, her winning rouge lip look is a complete standout, which is also a shade synonymous with her mom, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez’s beauty signature.

Krishnah Gravidez’s voluminous hair

Krishnah Gravidez’s hair direction delivered Barbiecore on the pageant stage. In the competition, she captured every pageant fan’s attention with her embellished gown by Rian Fernandez, and elevated the look with a voluminous hairstyle. Her features became a standout with a play on classic smoky eye, golden bronze, and glossed nude lips. Inarguably, she really does look like a real-life doll.

Jannarie Zarzoso’s deep crimp waves

Jannarie Zarzoso proved that she is the Glam Challenge Winner and Face of Social Media titleholder for a reason. Rewinding back to the competition, Zarzoso elevated her overall appeal with deep crimp waves. Another standout detail that can’t be left unmentioned is how she transformed it into a romantic updo for the evening gown segment. Moreover, it was the perfect hairstyle to complement her slitted and embellished golden gown by Nat Manilag.

Angelique Manto’s modern soft glam

Angelique Manto is definitely one of the crowd favorites. Apart from her breathtaking ensembles and detailed perspective on answering pageant questions, her beauty moments deserve recognition. In the competition, she served a balance of natural and defined with her take on a modern soft glam. Standout detail? Her peach-nude glossed lips.

Pauline Amelinckx’s super sleek hair

Speaking of standout contenders, Pauline Amelinckx also made a memorable performance with her showcase of beauty, grace, and eloquence throughout the competition. Her hair and makeup moments are equally unforgettable, too. Stylist Bryan Lopez Eusebio kept it simple and chic with her signature sleek straight hair. Meanwhile, Lei Ponce elevated her look with a fresh take on pageant glam makeup.

Samantha Panlilio

The beauty review confirms that mauve is a true backstage favorite. As seen on the main stage, Samantha Panlilio made a creative turn on eyeshadow by opting for mauves than browns for a smoky eye look. It’s a refreshing break from the pageant’s penchant for neutral eyeshadows. Elsewhere, she kept the lip look pared down with a swipe of nude lipstick.

Clare Dacanay

It’s no secret that the competition presented numerous iterations of modest curls and sleek straight hair, but it didn’t stop the Parañaque rep from donning a pixie haircut. Clare Dacanay made a statement with her Halle Berry-inspired short layered cut paired with a choppy fringe. The look perfectly straddled the line between elegant and edgy—a key to stand out among all the other candidates.
