The Pangasinan representative nabbed the top spot in the recently concluded final online competition of the 2021 Miss Universe Philippines. The “Casting Call” challenge saw the queens donning plain white shirts and minimal makeup to show off their beauty—no filters and from all angles.
Maureen opted to keep it simple with her untied hair and a no-makeup makeup look, which undeniably delighted fans familiar with her high-end photo shoots. In the video, she put her hair in a ponytail to show off her features and even spoke of her love for cats.

Meanwhile, Maureen was followed by Laguna’s Leren Mae Bautista and Cebu’s Steffi Rose Aberasturi to round out the top 3. The list was determined by fan votes cast through the Miss Universe Philippines app.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night will be joined by the Top 30 contestants this September 25. Whoever wins the MUP will represent the Philippines in the 2021 Miss Universe this December in Israel.
