Beyond all the pageantry and beauty, Miss World Philippines 2024 Krishnah Gravidez is living for more than just the crown. Every day she proves that she is a woman who values the real beauty that resonates from within by using her platform to help not only achieve her dreams but to also bring the causes that she believes in into the limelight with her. With her courage and inspiration, she continues to write a story— a story of her own, leaving an impact, becoming relevant, and most importantly embracing herself away from the limelight of pageantry.
QUEEN OF ALL TRADES
Born and raised in Ilocos Sur, Krishna’s early years were molded by values that have been instilled by her family and community. She was raised by her aunt, whom she calls “Mamalo,” as she told Mega, along with her sister, while their parents worked in Manila. Despite their parents being away in her early childhood, she remains close to her family.
Krishna’s journey into pageantry began at the age of six, when she joined a local barrio pageant in Ilocos. “At that age, I saw it as just a fun game,” she recalls. She loves beauty pageants and she shares that she has always wanted to be a beauty queen. Over the years, the experience bloomed into something more that made her passionate about beauty and braveness.
When she competed for the Miss World Philippines title, Krishnah found something deeper behind the glitz and glamor of pageantry. “Initially, I thought pageants were just a way to elevate oneself,” she admits. “But Miss World taught me that it’s so much more. It’s about using the platform for something bigger.” Her reign as Miss World Philippines centers on her advocacy, Color the World with Kindness, a youth-led initiative she launched in August 2022. Her advocacy and projects isn’t just about charity, it’s about empowering the youth to move forward for a better tomorrow. “Growing up, kindness and volunteerism were part of my everyday life, thanks to the values instilled in me by my family and church,” Krishnah says. Through this campaign, she champions education, arts, and community involvement, which align with Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose ethos.
LIFE BEYOND THE CROWN
Her compassion extends beyond winning the Miss World. Raised in a family who actively rescues animals, her passion for animal welfare runs deep. “Most of our dogs growing up were rescues,” she proudly shares. Now, she’s actively involved with organizations like Biyaya Animal Care and Fervent Animal Rescue and Advocacy in Baguio, focusing on animal rescue operations, spaying, and neutering efforts. And when she’s not fulfilling her duties as Miss World Philippines, she enjoys spending time with her eight aspin dogs.
“They’re all medium to large dogs, and they’re such a big part of my life,” she says. In her downtime, Krishna has also taken up reading, thanks to a friend’s recommendation, and is currently immersed in the Shatter Me series. Playing the guitar is her other beloved hobby, a passion her father nurtured in her at the age of 11. “I still imagine myself as the star of my own music video,” she laughs.
While it may seem out of the ordinary, how she shops and her “Tita” phase is all about practicality. “I’m not one to splurge. I only buy what I need—clothes, cosmetics, and beauty essentials,” she shares. Recently, she’s even developed a fondness for home essentials. “I get so excited about pillowcases and bed sheets now,” she laughs, fully embracing her tita tendencies.
And as she has just recently won Miss World, there’s no denying that doors are opening for her. Krishnah’s endorsements are full and she’s proud to be the newest face of Bench, “It’s a full-circle moment,” as she told us. “I grew up with Bench products, from towels to their iconic So In Love body spray,” she recalls fondly. Her partnership with Bench aligns with her values, particularly with brands that champion cruelty- free practices.
