More Than Just Acting: 3 Celebrities Who Also Delve Into Visual Arts

Heart Evangelista, Solenn Heussaff, and Xian Lim go beyond their cinematic artistry as they harness their creative skill in visual arts

The world of art has always been a playground for the curious. There were people who took an interest in exploring the unconventional, which then started many conversations that have pushed the boundaries of art. Now, we perceive art as a safe space for anyone to hone their creativity beyond their craft. We see this happen as celebrities resort to creating pieces that embrace their artistry, and we listed down the three who have been active in the world of visual arts for quite some time.

Heart Evangelista

The style-setter always had an affinity for painting. It was a hobby she had when she was a child, which she then honed and studied as the years went by—enabling her to have her own style of painting we see to this day. The muses of her painting usually consist of a variety of women who either showcase such emotions or are seen gathered together. There are even other paintings that remind us of Gustav Klimt’s famous composition.

Solenn Heussaff

An art that merges hyper-realism with abstract—Solenn Heussaff uses visual art to display the lives she sees in passing moments. While she may not understand or know the history of the people she crosses paths with, there is a sense of responsibility to display various individuals who carry such stories through their eyes. It’s why her style depicts an exaggerated form of realism in order to highlight the emotions that need to be conveyed, giving a direct message to those who view her art.

Xian Lim

Using the name Alexander Lim, the actor views art as a standalone message when he places his work in exhibits. He prefers to let the piece speak for itself rather than placing a direct meaning behind it, a sentiment that would let the audience decipher it with their own perspective. There is a sense of familiarity that he portrays in his work, but challenges the audience to see beyond the familiar as he adds peculiarities in a painting. It’s a practice in the world of art and Xian Lim’s style of creating reflects how art should be open to any interpretation.
