One Of Your Favorite Makeup Brands Is Officially Cruelty Free

Throughout the years, more and more beauty brands have been conscious of eliminating animal testing–something that also happens to be very in demand from their consumers.

Recently, Covergirl has made the step to be cruelty free as well, making it the largest makeup brand to achieve Leaping Bunny’s Cruelty Free Certification.

“If we can do it with our size and with our capability and with our complexity, every brand can do this,” starts Ukonwa Ojo, chief marketing officer of consumer beauty for Coty, CoverGirl’s parent company. “If we do it together, we can envision a cosmetics industry and world that is free from unnecessary animal testing.”

From now on, all Covergirl products will include a Leaping Bunny logo to let consumers know that it is cruelty free. While Coty has had a policy of not conducting animal testing for quite some time now, getting the Leaping Bunny stamp of approval from Cruelty Free International (CFI) was a huge step for Covergirl. The brand had to spend months demonstrating that they did not perform such testing–something that definitely paid off.

“Listening to our consumers, we started this journey with Covergirl to demonstrate our commitment to this issue…this is consistent with our ambition of growing responsibly by championing open, inclusive and sustainable beauty,” says Coty CEO Camillo Pane.

Covergirl is available in leading department stores, Zalora, Beauty MNL and Watsons.com.ph.
