We rounded up the top five trends that fashion houses included in their Fall/Winter Haute Couture collections
We have reached the end of Paris Haute Couture week, and it’s safe to say that the new collections were nothing short of exquisite. They were presented in Paris’ most lavish scenery to capture the aura of luxury each house has established since the beginning.
To properly cap off the week, we gathered the top trends Parisian fashion houses infused in their collections. From the popular rosette trend to the regal metallics, here are the five trends that ruled this year’s Paris Fall/Winter Haute Couture week.

Heart of Haute Couture
Amidst all the decorative designs we saw on the runway, the most prevalent theme was the exploration of new silhouettes and patterns. Showcasing experimental pieces goes beyond the finished design because it also displays the exquisite craftsmanship that such brands have to achieve the finished look. Schiaparelli and Thom Browne were two brands that were more venturesome in their forms.

Royal-Core
Regality is at its finest as brands showcased their interpretation of royalty with their codes. In line with the recent trend of quiet luxury, a parade of exquisite pieces designed with royal attributes like the capelets, ball gowns, and golden detailing were seen throughout Dior and Giambattista Valli’s collections.

Armor Couture
The use of chain links and metallic materials takes us back to the medieval era, but all done with a modern twist. A knightly aesthetic flowed across several collections with the brands’ use of hardware—from Balenciaga’s chrome resin-armored gown to Valentino’s embellished shroud.

Never-ending roses
Most collections took part in the dainty trend known as rosettes. It was quite surprising to see the flowers bloom for the F/W collections, but we can’t deny how refreshing it is to see the appliques decorate the pieces elegantly. Rosebuds were either placed at the center like Armani Privé or draped across the shoulder as seen on Zuhair Murad.

Fantasy era
While one side of fashion week rested on royalty, fashion houses like Iris van Herpen and Elie Saab were two of the few that made their way towards the fantastical. Flowy dresses, draped fabrics, and sculpted silhouettes were presented in pastels, metallics, and the staple gold.
