Patrick Lazol’s ready-to-wear collections presented at the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival 2018 are all about a play on patterns, structures, and layers. It’s an experimental mix masterfully crafted to a favorable outcome. From plaids on pinstripes to ruffles and pleats—his creations feed us with all sorts of form and texture. The cuts intricately forms strict structures in the thick of soft flows of fabric. Not only are we getting a handful of textures but we’re also seeing a surprise pop of color here and there. The luminous lemons, bright yellows, and whites are a breath of fresh air amongst the deep hues of greens, blues, and purples. Patrick Lazol is indeed a player and a good one at that, with sustainable creations perfect for making one’s own statement.
