Prada proves its global influence with two simultaneous runway shows in Milan and Shanghai during the 2021 Milan Fashion Week.
Fashion truly has no borders—and Prada agrees. In two shows held both in Milan and Shanghai, the luxury fashion house goes global with their Spring/Summer 2022 collection. With the help of technology, the two runway shoes were held simultaneously in both locations.
In a digitally-advanced world, Prada took advantage. Showing the fashion house’s power and influence, screens were shown next to the models to show their international counterpart walking at the same time. From Milan to Shanghai to all parts of the world, Prada proves to be a fashion brand that goes beyond.
As Raf Simmons’ first in-person runway show for Prada since he was named co-creative director on 2020, co-designed by Miuccia Prada, the collection showed “a seduction through reduction” in sexy silhouettes and daring pieces. Deconstructed pieces, corsets, bare back dresses, and stitched-in underwires in knit sweaters were the main pieces of the Spring/Summer 2022 collection. Not only that, it also featured oversized leather jackets, bright colored mini dresses, and skirts with long trains.
