Shortly after her Miss Universe stint, Rabiya Mateo is now eyeing a new crown: one in the showbiz industry.
During an interview with Miss Universe Indonesia 2020 Ayu Maulida, Mateo that she’s already planning to sign onto a Filipino entertainment network—but remained mum on the details.
When asked if she was excited to turn over her Miss Universe Philippines crown, she said yes because “I will be signing with a TV network here in the Philippines. And I might start doing acting.”
“It’s a different chapter. Me being a beauty queen is about to end, but we’re about to open a different one and this is Rabiya as an actress—I’m excited about it.”
She also revealed that she’s looking into acting workshops to improve her craft. “I know it’s not going to be easy. I need to do some workshops to improve my acting skills, but I am up for it. If I was able to do Miss Universe back, then I can do this also.”
‘Newest Kapuso’
Though nothing has officially been revealed just yet, a poster for her recent guesting in GMA-7’s Boobay and Tekla show already called the beauty queen as their “newest Kapuso.”
The episode itself saw the two hosts giving Rabiya acting tips and examples for her upcoming projects.
