Beyond Beauty

Rissa’s appointment signals a defining moment in the Allure legacy, having grounded her passion for beauty with a strong academic foundation. With a Business Management degree from Ateneo de Manila, an Executive MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, and advanced studies in Business Sustainability from Cambridge, Rissa’s expertise extends far beyond her passion for the beauty industry.

“What excites me most is the power of beauty to influence change. Leading Allure Philippines allows me to shape how Filipinos see themselves through stories of beauty, wellness, authenticity, diversity, inclusivity, social responsibility, and empowerment. We won’t just be reporting on beauty—we’re actively shaping it for the next generation.”

Her journey has long been defined by a deep commitment to creativity and advocacy. Starting out as a model and beauty columnist for The Philippine Star, she later led the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP), where she championed the protection of models’ rights. As a successful entrepreneur and author of the bestselling book Read My Lips: What It Takes to Be a World-Class Homegrown Brand, her recognition as Tatler Asia’s Most Influential in 2021, and her ongoing advocacy with UN Women underscore her commitment to shaping the industries she’s in to be both powerful and purposeful.

With vast experiences under her belt, Rissa is more than equipped to take on a pivotal role. “With over three decades of unparalleled beauty reporting, Allure has established itself as the most trusted global beauty authority by offering expert-validated advice that speaks to real-world beauty needs. The entry of Allure Philippines will pioneer a new era of beauty expertise for Filipinos,” shared the Editor-in-Chief.
